DeAndre Ayton, the No. 1 men’s basketball prospect in the class of 2017, says he will announce his college choice Tuesday evening.

Ayton’s finalists are Kentucky, Arizona and Kansas.

The 7-foot Ayton tweeted Tuesday afternoon that he will announce his choice during ESPN’s 6 p.m. Sportscenter.

Ayton — a Bahamas native who is entering his senior season at Hillcrest (Ariz.), was ranked No. 1 in Rivals.com’s updated recruiting rankings released earlier Tuesday. Ayton is expected to play several high school games in the state of Kentucky this season.

Scout.com director of basketball recruiting Evan Daniels tweeted Tuesday that the decision is too close to call.

“After my first round of calls, this DeAndre Ayton decision smells like Kentucky. But I truly don't know at this point,” his tweet said.

Kentucky Coach John Calipari has not yet landed a commitment for the class of 2017.
