With this week’s news that five-star point guard Darius Garland has picked up a scholarship offer from Kentucky, there are now eight prospects in the 2018 recruiting class who have reached that level of interest from the Wildcats.

The Herald-Leader’s Next Cats page dedicated to UK’s top recruiting targets in the class of 2018 has been updated with the latest information, newest rankings and best spring and summer video highlights featuring those eight players and 10 additional prospects who could be in line for UK offers later in this recruiting cycle.

Zion Williamson and Immanuel Quickley appear serious about a “package deal” recruitment, and that would be very good news for John Calipari and the Cats.

Marvin Bagley — the consensus No. 1 player in the 2018 class — is mulling a reclassification to 2017 that would shake up the national rankings and affect UK’s standing in his recruitment.

Other top stars like Bol Bol, Romeo Langford and Cameron Reddish have also seen their recruitments shift over the past few weeks, and Kentucky remains involved with all of those players.

Then there are prospects like Jordan Brown, Moses Brown, Keldon Johnson, Louis King and Emmitt Williams who are still fighting for that UK scholarship offer.
