See what developed at Kentucky’s basketball photo day

University of Kentucky basketball fans won’t get their first live look at the 2017-18 Wildcats until Big Blue Madness but UK provided a peek behind the curtain on Monday.

The Wildcats invited the media to a photo day in the Joe Craft Center, putting on display a roster that includes:

▪  Eight freshmen, four sophomores, two juniors and no seniors;

▪  Eight players who stand 6-foot-6 or taller, including three who are 6-10 or taller;

▪  Three scholarship players who saw game action last season.

Big Blue Madness unfolds in Rupp Arena on Oct. 13. Next comes the Blue-White Game on Oct. 20 and scrimmages against Thomas More (Oct. 27) and Centre (Nov. 3) before the Wildcats open the regular season at home on Nov. 10 against Utah Valley.

Coach John Calipari’s roster includes guards Quade Green, Hamidou Diallo, Jemarl Baker, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jonny David, Brad Calipari and Dillon Pulliam along with forwards Sacha Killeya-Jones, Jarred Vanderbilt, Nick Richards, Kevin Knox, Tai Wynyard, PJ Washington and Wenyen Gabriel.
