For one day, at least, Oscar Tshiebwe will be back on a basketball court in Lexington.

Tshiebwe, the former national player of the year for the Kentucky Wildcats, will host a basketball camp for kids at the Sports Center in Lexington on Aug. 27, it was announced Thursday.

The Oscar Tshiebwe Youth Basketball Camp is open to children in grades 1-8 and is scheduled to feature the majority of Kentucky’s 2023-24 roster alongside the former UK star. According to camp organizers, the list of current Wildcats expected to be in attendance at the camp includes Aaron Bradshaw, Justin Edwards, Rob Dillingham, Antonio Reeves, Tre Mitchell, Reed Sheppard, Adou Thiero, Kareem Watkins, Joey Hart, Jordan Burks, Walker Horn, Grant Darbyshire and Brennan Canada.

That group features every UK player except for freshman point guard D.J. Wagner, sophomore center Ugonna Onyenso and recent commitment Zvonimir Ivisic.

Camp participants will have an opportunity to “work directly” with Tshiebwe and other Kentucky players to “learn new techniques and improve their overall performance,” according to a release from camp organizers. The camp will consist of drills and scrimmages, and each participant will receive a team photo, “limited edition” camp T-shirt and a souvenir autograph. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback from Tshiebwe, who signed a free-agent deal with the Indiana Pacers this offseason.

Tshiebwe led Kentucky in scoring and was the nation’s top rebounder in each of the last two seasons. He was the consensus national player of the year in 2021-22 and earned second-team All-America honors this past season.

Registration for the camp is now open, and those interested can visit OscarCamp.com for more information. The current “early bird” pricing on camp registration is $50, and organizers said there are a limited number of spots available.
