The Waterboys are back: UK basketball managers release rap video for Kentucky pool company
You first learned about them this time last year, and now they’re back and better than ever.
For the second year in a row, the Kentucky men’s basketball team managers have dubbed themselves the Waterboys and collaborated with Geddes Pools, a Nicholasville-based pool company, for an NIL music video. The new hit, titled “Ladies Love The Waterboys” dropped Tuesday and features the managers, members of the UK Dance Team, Travis Perry and Trent Noah.
The theme of the rap is how the managers’ hydration qualities are just as, if not more, attractive to women as the basketball players. One scene in particular features a dance team member talking with Perry and Noah before choosing the manager.
“Travis Perry be trying, but he just don’t see, ladies love a man with a hydration degree,” one of the managers raps.
Another highlight of the music video includes a party at the end of the bench, designated for the managers. The party features the managers, dance team members, Perry, Noah and a man dressed in a pope costume.
“Ladies love the waterboys, yeah we got drip. Got with Geddes Pools now we making them hits. They don’t want a player they want something more — a man with a mop and a bottle to pour,” the chorus of the lyrics reads.
DJ Geddes, the Director of Sales Operations with Geddes Pools and a former UK men’s basketball manager, said Perry and Noah donated their NIL earnings back to the managers. He also thanked everyone who was involved in the music video.
