Kentucky men’s basketball vs. Tennessee: Get live updates, real-time stats
Even by Kentucky basketball standards, Saturday night at Rupp Arena will be swimming in ceremony.
UK’s game against Tennessee is the renewal of a rivalry that got heated last time out in a Wildcat win in Knoxville. It’ll feature the 30-year reunion of Kentucky’s dominant 1996 national title team. And the Cats will rock throwback white jerseys trimmed with denim, a modern recreation of the ‘96 team’s threads.
But as they used to say in the days of the Untouchables: It’s not the denim, it’s what’s in ‘em. And the main event Saturday is still Cats-Vols, a clash of surging SEC opponents.
Kentucky (16-7, 7-3 SEC) has won seven of its past eight games. Tennessee (16-6, 6-3) has won four straight since that 80-78 homecourt loss to UK on Jan. 17.
You can follow Saturday’s 8:30 p.m. game in the live chat below, which also features real-time stats and play-by-play. Herald-Leader men’s basketball beat writer Ben Roberts, sports columnist and staff writers Cameron Drummond and Caroline Makauskas will be on hand to provide news updates and answer your questions.
