Kentucky basketball vs. Missouri: Get live updates, stats from SEC Tournament

Kentucky basketball wasn’t always good in Wednesday’s first-round SEC Tournament win.

But the No. 9 seed Cats were good enough.

Good enough to beat 16th-seeded LSU 87-82 at Bridgestone Arena. Good enough to set up a rematch Thursday against No. 8 seed Missouri, a team that handed UK one of its worst regular-season losses, a 73-68 setback Jan. 7 that the Cats led by eight with 4:37 to play.

The Cats (20-12, 10-8 SEC in the regular season) and Tigers (20-11, 10-8) will meet again for a 12:30 p.m. EDT tip-off on SEC Network.

College basketball analytics site KenPom.com gives the Cats a 64% chance of winning but projects a tight margin: 78-74 UK. The oddsmakers set UK as a 3.5-point favorite as of Wednesday night.
