Man accused in crash involving UK players pleads not guilty

The driver of a vehicle that hit a sport utility vehicle carrying two University of Kentucky men's basketball players early Friday pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of driving under the influence and failure to maintain insurance.

According to documents filed in Fayette District Court, Scott M. Roseberry, 22, of Versailles had a blood alcohol level of 0.233 after the wreck, which involved UK forward Terrence Jones and guard Stacey Poole.

Roseberry waived formal arraignment and is scheduled to appear in court again Dec. 1.

Roseberry was driving a car when he swerved into the lane of a sport-utility vehicle carrying Jones and Poole on East High Street, The Associated Press reported; the accident happened at 2:50 a.m. Friday, according to the uniform citation.

Neither player was injured, but Coach John Calipari instituted a curfew on the team for the rest of the season. Poole has since announced he will transfer.
