Louisville rising, Kentucky falling in college basketball polls
The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team tumbled eight spots in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll as the result of its loss to Ohio State on Saturday.
The Wildcats (9-2) started the season No. 2 in the AP poll, fell to No. 4 after its loss at UCLA and was moved down all the way to No. 12 after Saturday’s 74-67 defeat in the CBS Sports Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Kentucky returns home Saturday to take on archrival Louisville at noon in Rupp Arena. The Cardinals rose one spot from No. 19 to No. 18 in the AP poll after handily defeating Kennesaw State and Western Kentucky last week.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Kentucky fell from No. 4 last week to No. 11 this week. Louisville rose from No. 16 to No. 15.
