UK Coach John Calipari said on his radio call-in show Monday night that he would like to add one more post player to the Wildcats’ recruiting class of 2016.
Calipari was asked if there’s any concern over the constant rumors that he’ll leave UK for the NBA having a negative effect on recruiting.
“We’ve signed our guys and we’re looking for one more kid,” the UK coach responded. “And we’ve got a guy that we’d like to get — a big guy. So we’re all set. This (Brooklyn Nets rumor) did not come right during the recruiting period, where it hurts you.”
Five-star big men Jarrett Allen and Marques Bolden — both Texas natives — are still on UK’s recruiting radar, and national analysts Jerry Meyer and Evan Daniels talked to the Herald-Leader about the two prospects last week.

UK has already signed five-star post players Edrice “Bam” Adebayo and Sacha Killeya-Jones for next season. Current freshmen power forwards Isaac Humphries and Tai Wynyard will also return to the team. Freshman Skal Labissiere is still projected as a top-10 NBA pick, and upperclassmen Marcus Lee and Alex Poythress are both projected as possible second-round selections.
Calipari has been mentioned over the past couple of days as a possibility for the Brooklyn Nets opening.
“I’m not worried about all this,” he said Monday. “I never do get worried about it. We’re doing well, and this is part of what happens when you’re doing well. And we just move on. Every year, (the NBA rumors) have been there, multiple times. And they don’t ever materialize.”
