Kentucky’s Poythress sits out Florida game
The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team was without senior starting forward Alex Poythress when it took the floor against the Florida Gators on Saturday.
A UK spokesman said Poythress was sitting out the game with an injury to his right knee. Poythress missed most of last season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The 20th-ranked Wildcats (16-6) went with Marcus Lee up front in place of Poythress.
Poythress is averaging 10.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
UK said Poythress’s status is day-to-day.
