Rupp Arena advises fans to dress for ‘warmer than usual’ game due to HVAC problem
Rupp Arena is advising fans coming to Saturday’s game that the arena may be “warmer than usual” because of a problem with the HVAC system. Here is the statement from Lexington Center:
“Rupp Arena’s HVAC system has suddenly encountered an electrical switch gear problem which is limiting its ability to properly air condition the entire arena.
“While this situation presents no danger to the public and will not impede hosting the Kentucky men’s basketball game against LSU on Saturday, March 5th, fans should be aware that it could be warmer than usual in the arena and should plan to dress accordingly.
“The Rupp Arena staff will continue to work diligently to correct the malfunction to resume normal operations. If not corrected by game time, there will be no pyrotechnics for starting lineups.”
