Marques Bolden’s father says no plans for announcement at Jordan game
It appears that the recruitment of five-star high school basketball prospect Marques Bolden will last at least one more day.
Bolden is not planning to announce his college decision during Friday night’s Jordan Brand Classic, his father told the Herald-Leader on Friday afternoon. The Jordan Classic is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN2, and it was previously seen as a possible setting for Bolden’s announcement.
Instead, it seems that Bolden will head back home to Texas before revealing his college choice. He has narrowed his list to Duke and Kentucky, and neither school has emerged as the clear favorite.
“At this point, it’s hard to say,” Scout.com’s Evan Daniels told the Herald-Leader on Thursday night. “He could pick Duke, he could pick Kentucky and neither would necessarily surprise me.”
Scout.com ranks Bolden as the No. 1 center and No. 12 overall player in the class of 2016. The 6-foot-11 prospect has repeatedly said that he intends to announce a college decision before Sunday, which is his 18th birthday.
