University of Kentucky guard Charles Matthews underwent a minor medical procedure Tuesday, UK confirmed Wednesday. He is expected back fully in time for summer workouts.

Matthews, a 6-foot-6 sophomore-to-be, averaged 1.7 points and 1.6 rebounds as a freshman. He played in 37 games, and started in three (against Albany, Illinois State and Louisville).

A highlight came in the SEC Tournament when he helped defend Alabama's all-league guard Retin Obasohan.
