Though the recruiting efforts of the University of Kentucky basketball coaches will largely be focused on prospects from the class of 2017 over the next few months, the Wildcats have already targeted several players from the 2018 class.
Four recruits from the class of 2018 have already claimed scholarship offers from Kentucky, and many other rising juniors are on the Cats’ radar.
The Herald-Leader’s Next Cats recruiting website launched a new page Tuesday dedicated to tracking UK’s top targets from the 2018 class. It already includes bio info, video and rankings for 14 players from that group.
Players such as No. 1 overall recruit Marvin Bagley and Indiana star Romeo Langford already have scholarship offers from Kentucky. Others, like Shareef O’Neal — son of NBA great Shaquille O’Neal — have expressed an interest in the Wildcats but are still waiting on a UK offer.
