Four-star point guard is UK women’s first commitment for 2021 class
The Kentucky women’s basketball team picked up its first commitment for the class of 2021 on Saturday night.
Jada Walker, a 5-foot-6 point guard out of Henrico High School in Virginia, announced her choice on Twitter. She previously played for New Hope Academy in Landover Hills, Md.
Walker is a four-star prospect who ESPN ranks 63rd overall and 15th at her position in the 2021 class. Her final five schools under consideration also included Michigan, Arizona, Mississippi State and N.C. State.
The Cats’ 2020 class includes five-star wing Treasure Hunt, four-star forward Nyah Leveretter and four-star point guard Erin Toller from Sacred Heart. ESPN ranks Hunt 29th overall, Leveretter 83rd and Toller 91st.
Kentucky (22-8) finished the 2019-2020 season ranked 16th by the Associated Press and 18th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
