Follow along live Friday afternoon as Jennifer Smith of the Herald-Leader tweets live updates from courtside during the University of Kentucky’s women’s basketball game against Florida at the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.

The 13th-ranked Wildcats enter the game 22-6 and as the No. 5 seed in the league tournament. The Wildcats advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating No. 13 seed LSU 79-71 on Thursday. No. 25 Florida (22-7) came in as the event’s No. 4 seed, earning a bye past the tournament’s first two rounds.

Friday’s game (tip-off around 2:30 p.m.) marks the 53rd meeting between the schools. Kentucky leads the all-time series 27-25, but Florida won the teams’ most recent meeting, 85-79, on Jan. 31 in Gainesville, Fla.

The winner of Friday’s game will play No. 1 seed South Carolina in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Gamecocks defeated Auburn 57-48 on Friday.

The Kentucky-Florida game is being televised live on the SEC Network and is also available on WatchESPN.
