Kentucky women’s basketball in NCAA tourney: Live updates

The teams are matched up in the second round of the NCAA Tournament’s Lexington Regional. The winner moves on to the regional semifinals scheduled for Friday night in Rupp Arena. The regional finals will be held Sunday in Rupp with a berth in the NCAA Final Four at stake.

Kentucky, the No. 3 seed in the Lexington Regional, advanced to Monday’s game with an 85-31 victory over UNC-Asheville on Saturday in Memorial Coliseum. Oklahoma, the No. 6 seed, defeated Purdue 61-45 on Saturday in Lexington.

The Wildcats, who finished fourth in the Southeastern Conference regular-season standings, are 24-7. The Sooners, who finished fifth in the Big 12 Conference regular-season standings, are 22-10.

Monday’s game (6:45 p.m. tip-off) marks the third meeting between the schools, with each team having won one previous matchup. The Sooners beat Kentucky 88-68 in the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight on March 30, 2010. The Wildcats won 92-88 in overtime on Nov. 28, 2014, in the Virgin Islands.

Monday’s game is being televised live on ESPN2 and is also available on WatchESPN.
