Report: Kentucky’s Isaiah Briscoe signs NBA training camp contract
Former University of Kentucky guard Isaiah Briscoe will have a shot at making an NBA roster this fall.
Briscoe, who left UK after his sophomore season but was not chosen in this year’s NBA Draft, has signed a training camp contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN on Wednesday.
Briscoe started all 36 games for the Wildcats last season, averaging 12.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
A 6-foot-3 guard from Newark, N.J., Briscoe played for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
He will be attempting to join a Blazers roster that includes dynamic guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, in addition to former UConn standout Shabazz Napier. Briscoe will also be competing with former Wildcat Archie Goodwin, who signed a training camp deal with Portland last week.
