Kentucky’s class of 2022 commitment list got one name shorter Friday.

Treyveon Longmire, a four-star athlete who’d been committed to UK since March, announced on Twitter that he is de-commiting from the Wildcats and will explore other options.

UK offered Longmire, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect who played receiver and defensive back at Corbin High School, in 2019. He was the third player to commit to UK as part of the 2022 recruiting cycle, and is the second of those three to de-commit (Jeremiah Caldwell, who in January became the first commit of the class, de-committed in August).

Longmire as a senior finished with 475 yards and seven touchdowns on 22 receptions. He scored a touchdown on his only rush of the season and had an interception this year for the Redhounds, whose season ended at 12-1 after a loss to Johnson Central in a Class 4A region championship game.

Derek Terry of 247Sports reported that Longmire may schedule an official visit to Cincinnati on Dec. 10. The site reported that Louisville, Mississippi State and West Virginia could also be factors in Longmire’s recruitment.
