Kentucky football recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow signs another contract extension

In the days leading up to Kentucky football’s 2024 season opener against Southern Miss, recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow and special teams coordinator Jay Boulware signed contract extensions.

Both coaches were previously working on contracts that were set to expire June 2025. Marrow’s deal now runs through the 2026 season and Boulware’s through the 2025 season.

The extensions were released by UK’s Office of Legal Counsel.

Each of Mark Stoops’ 10 assistant coaches is now signed through at least the 2025 season. Like Marrow, offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan is signed through 2026.

Marrow’s deal will pay him $1.3 million annually, the same as his salary for the 2024 season under his previous deal. Boulware will be paid $550,000 this season and $575,000 for the 2025 season.

Marrow is the only position coach to serve on Stoops’ staff throughout his tenure at Kentucky. Safeties coach Frank Buffano also came to Lexington with Stoops prior to the 2013 season but began his stint at UK as an off-field support staffer.

Marrow’s new contract elevates the buyout he would owe UK for taking another college assistant coaching position from $150,000 per year remaining on the contract to $200,000 per year left on the deal at the time he left.

Boulware was hired to coach running backs and special teams prior to the 2023 season. Stoops has repeatedly credited him with improvements on special teams in the last year.
