Kentucky football vs. Florida: Follow live stats, play-by-play from Kroger Field
Suddenly, the Kentucky football team is seeking a winning streak.
The Wildcats (3-5, 1-5 SEC) host Florida (3-5, 2-3) on Saturday searching for a second consecutive win after beating Auburn last week on the road to snap streaks of 10 straight conference losses and 11 losses in a row against power-conference opponents.
The Gators, who fired coach Billy Napier on Oct. 19, will be playing their second game under interim coach Billy Gonzales. Last week, Florida pushed rival Georgia in a 24-20 loss in Jacksonville.
As Napier was, Kentucky’s Mark Stoops has been on the hot seat much of this season. But a win at Auburn has taken off at least some of the heat. With four games to play — including road games at ranked opponents Vanderbilt and Louisville — the Wildcats still have an outside shot at bowl eligibility.
Saturday’s game will air on SEC Network, with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST.
