The mastermind behind one of Kentucky Athletics’ most beloved traditions made his return to Kroger Field.

Rapper Waka Flocka Flame, whose hit “Grove St. Party (feat. Kebo Gotti)” has become synonymous with success and celebration for the Kentucky football team since 2014, was back on the sidelines Saturday afternoon to watch UK take on FCS program Tennessee Tech while on his current concert tour.

It marks the multi-platinum artist’s first trip back to Kroger Field since the Wildcats’ 20-13 victory over Florida on Oct. 2, 2021.

Waka Flocka Flame took the time to take photos with fans and enjoy the atmosphere on an unusually windy day in Lexington. The camera found him several times throughout the first half, including during needle drops of both “Grove St. Party” and “No Hands (feat. Roscoe Dash & Wale),” both of which are featured on his 2010 album “Flockaveli.”

Grove St. Party was recorded and mixed by Lexington native and UK fan Finis White, who works under the name Ky Engineerin’.

Those looking for more from Flame during his visit to Lexington can catch his all-ages concert following the game at Manchester Music Hall. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available at $37.86 (including fees) for what the venue is calling the “official afterparty following the Kentucky vs. Tennessee Tech football game.”
