Numbers of note, complete stats from Kentucky football’s 41-0 loss at Louisville

Numbers to know and full statistics from Kentucky football’s 41-0 loss to Louisville on Saturday at L&N Stadium.

Card crush: Saturday marked the second time the Cardinals have shut out the Wildcats. Louisville won 28-0 at home Sept. 5, 2004. Kentucky hasn’t shut out Louisville since the series renewed in 1994 as the Governor’s Cup game. The Wildcats held the Cardinals scoreless in the first six meetings, all between 1912 and 1924. Kentucky was shut out for the first time since the 2022 Music City Bowl, a 21-0 loss to Iowa. The 41-point margin of victory was Louisville’s largest ever against Kentucky.

No-rally Cats: Kentucky fell to 0-7 this season and 11-63 in Mark Stoops’ coaching tenure when trailing at the half. The Cats are 0-49 under Stoops when it trails by more than 14 points in a game. Prior to Saturday, UK’s only scoreless half this season had come against Texas, when it failed to score in the first half of a 16-13 overtime loss.

Short on long plays: Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley connected with wide receiver Hardley Gilmore IV on a 26-yard completion in the third quarter, but otherwise the Kentucky offense failed to get a big-play spark. It had only three plays of more than 10 yards. For the season, UK had 17 passing plays of more than 20 yards against power-conference competition.
