Kentucky's Warford third-team AP All-American
University of Kentucky senior guard Larry Warford was named a third-team All-American by The Associated Press on Tuesday.
He is the first UK offensive lineman to receive All-America honors of any sort since 1989, when tackle Mike Pfeifer was a first-team choice by Football News and Mizlou. He is the first to receive AP honors since Warren Bryant was named to the second team in 1976.
The 6-foot-3, 333-pound Warford played at Madison Central High School in Richmond.
Warford was recently named to the All-Southeastern Conference second team by both the AP and the league's coaches.
He is projected as a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, according to CBSsports.com, rating as the No. 4 offensive guard prospect in college football.
