Lafayette offensive lineman Landon Young is the No. 54 overall prospect in the class of 2016, according to Rivals.com, which released its postseason top-100 rankings on Monday morning.
Young — a 6-foot-7, 300-pound recruit — committed to Kentucky more than two years ago and helped lead the Generals to the Class 6A state title game last weekend. He has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State and several other top programs.
Rivals.com moved Young up 37 spots from its preseason ranking in August, when the future Wildcat was considered the nation’s No. 91 overall prospect. He will be UK’s first Rivals 100 signee since Fort Campbell linebacker Micah Johnson, who was ranked No. 36 overall in the class of 2006.
Johnson is UK’s only other commitment from the Rivals 100 rankings, which date back to 2002.
