Junior-college defensive tackle Naquez Pringle has committed to Kentucky and plans to enroll for the spring semester.
The commitment was first reported by Scout.com on Friday night.
Pringle — a 6-foot-3, 340-pound prospect — will come to UK from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi. UK defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh was his primary recruiter.
A native of Hemingway, S.C., Pringle was a three-star prospect coming out of high school in the class of 2014 and had reported scholarship offers from Clemson and South Carolina.
247Sports ranks him as the No. 27 defensive tackle in the juco ranks. UK accounted for his only current scholarship offer from a power-five program.
Pringle fits a position of immediate need for the Wildcats. He will have two seasons of eligibility in Lexington and is expected to join the team for spring practice.
UK now has 23 commitments for the recruiting class of 2016.
