Good news for the Cleveland Browns on Monday became bad news for an ex-Cat on Tuesday.

AJ Stamps, a rookie defensive back from the University of Kentucky, was waived by the Browns to make room for wide receiver Josh Gordon. Gordon was reinstated by the NFL on Monday after missing all of last season because of a suspension.

Stamps, a 6-foot, 205-pound safety, tied for second on the UK team with 67 tackles last season. He was not selected in the NFL Draft but signed with the Browns as a free agent days later.

The Browns’ roster is currently at the maximum of 90 players.
