Five schools on the University of Kentucky’s 2016 football schedule were ranked in the Top 25 in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll published Thursday by USA Today.

The Wildcats, coming off a 2015 season in which it finished 5-7 overall and 2-6 in the Southeastern Conference, received no votes in the preseason poll.

Mark Stoops’ Kentucky team will visit defending national champion and No. 1 ranked Alabama on Oct. 1. The Cats also travel to No. 10 Tennessee (Nov. 12), No. 23 Louisville (Nov. 26) and No. 25 Florida (Sept. 10). The only Top 25 team UK faces at home is No. 16 Georgia on Nov. 5.

Six SEC teams made the coaches’ Top 25 — the most of any conference — also including No. 6 LSU and No. 12 Ole Miss. The Pacific-12 boasted five teams. The ACC, which includes Louisville, had four, as did the Big Ten and Big 12.

Western Kentucky was among the schools outside the Top 25 who also received votes. The Hilltoppers, coming off a 12-2 season that included a victory in the Miami Beach Bowl, received 11 votes.
