Four-star linebacker from Michigan commits to Kentucky
DeAndre Square, a class of 2018 linebacker from Michigan, announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky on Friday.
Scout ranks Square, who is 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds and plays for Cass Technical in Detroit, as a four-star player and the No. 20 outside linebacker nationally.
“First off I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play football,” Square said in a statement posted on Twitter. “ I also want to thank my parents for being there for me. Last I want to thank my coaches for coaching me up and showing me the ropes. With all that said I had a long talk with coaches and family and decided that I will be committing to the University of Kentucky! #BBN”
Square’s other reported offers, according to Scout, include LSU, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin and Cincinnati.
