How to watch star recruit Reed Sheppard’s college announcement Saturday morning
The highly anticipated college announcement from North Laurel High School basketball recruit Reed Sheppard will be televised by WYMT on Saturday morning.
WYMT will carry Sheppard’s decision live on its television station, as well as streaming live on WYMT.com and the WYMT Facebook page. The station says fans can also watch via Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV and VUit.
Coverage of the announcement is set to begin at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, and Sheppard is scheduled to announce his college decision at 9 a.m.
Sheppard — a 6-foot-3 combo guard from London, Ky. — revealed Monday that he would announce his college choice this weekend. He is the son of UK basketball greats Jeff Sheppard and Stacey Reed Sheppard, and he has risen to the No. 17 overall ranking in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports, with his play over the summer.
The 17-year-old will choose from a list of finalists that includes Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Ohio State and Virginia. All of those schools extended scholarship offers over the summer and have hosted Sheppard and his family for recruiting visits in recent months.
UK goes into the weekend as the overwhelming favorite for Sheppard’s commitment. The Wildcats have all 15 predictions across Sheppard’s 247Sports Crystal Ball and Rivals.com FutureCast pages, with several of those picks coming from national analysts.
The Herald-Leader will have full coverage from Sheppard’s announcement Saturday.
