Star big men making their college decisions. And top Kentucky basketball recruiting links.
As the summer basketball recruiting season draws to a close, some highly touted big men who have been linked to the Kentucky Wildcats in the past are making their college decisions.
Xavier Booker — a 6-foot-10 post player from Indianapolis — is now the No. 3 player in the 247Sports rankings for the 2023 class, and he announced a commitment to Michigan State on Saturday afternoon. John Calipari watched Booker play last month. He did not extend an offer to the five-star power forward, though it was the game where he first saw in-state guard Travis Perry, who earned his UK offer a few days later.
Baye Fall— a 7-footer ranked No. 13 overall by 247Sports — has picked up five new predictions in favor of Arkansas this month, including a couple of picks coming in from national recruiting analysts. Fall was linked to Kentucky earlier in the process, but the Wildcats are no longer seriously in the mix for his recruitment.
Kentucky should get its own good recruiting news in the frontcourt Monday, when highly touted center Ugonna Onyenso is expected to announce his commitment to UK, which continues to be the runaway favorite on the prediction websites. Onyenso will join the Wildcats in time for the upcoming season. For the 2023 class, Aaron Bradshaw remains the only center with a UK scholarship offer.
