Here’s where Kentucky basketball recruits landed in new Rivals rankings
Wednesday marked another significant day in the college basketball recruiting landscape.
Rivals released its reworked rankings for class of 2024 players.
Recently, 247Sports also released updated class of 2024 rankings.
There’s plenty of Kentucky interest in the updated rankings.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari and his assistants have been out on the road over the last couple weeks during the start of the college basketball recruiting period, specifically focusing on class of 2023 and class of 2024 players.
UK currently doesn’t have any commits in the class of 2024.
Here’s a look at how UK’s class of 2024 targets (defined as players currently with a Kentucky scholarship offer) shifted in the updated Rivals rankings.
Rivals releases new class of 2024 rankings
▪ No. 1 Tre Johnson (shooting guard): Up 2 spots from No. 3 to No. 1
▪ No. 3 Ian Jackson (shooting guard): Down 2 spots from No. 1 to No. 3
▪ No. 5 Airious “Ace” Bailey (small forward): Up 2 spots from No. 7 to No. 5
▪ No. 9 Boogie Fland (combo guard): Up 1 spot from No. 10 to No. 9
▪ No. 12 Karter Knox (small forward): Down 1 spot from No. 11 to No. 12
▪ No. 16 Isaiah Elohim (shooting guard): Down 11 spots from No. 5 to No. 16
▪ No. 21 Tahaad Pettiford (point guard): Up 7 spots from No. 28 to No. 21
▪ No. 41 Amier Ali (small forward): Down 9 spots from No. 32 to No. 41
▪ No. 87 Travis Perry (point guard): Down 23 spots from No. 64 to No. 87
There are two Kentucky-based players in the new Rivals class of 2024 rankings.
In addition to Perry, who is from Lyon County High School, there is Ayden Evans, a power forward from Elizabethtown High School, who is ranked No. 143 in the class by Rivals .
As mentioned earlier, there’s been a significant focus on class of 2024 players during the start of this college basketball recruiting period from Kentucky. Calipari and assistant coach Orlando Antigua have spent the last few days in New York City visiting both Boogie Fland and Ian Jackson, and Tre Johnson received a visit from UK on Tuesday.
