Highlights: Class of 2024 Kentucky recruit Ahmad Nowell plays on Nike EYBL circuit
The Kentucky men’s basketball program already has a strong legacy of bringing in top recruits from the Philadelphia metropolitan area, and another one might soon be on the way.
Ahmad Nowell, a class of 2024 combo guard, recently picked up a Kentucky scholarship offer and already holds a couple key connections to the current UK team.
Nowell was a teammate of incoming Wildcat Justin Edwards at Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia, and Nowell plays travel basketball for the same program that Edwards did: Team Final on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Despite being just 6-feet tall, Nowell presents himself as a stocky and strong player who possesses the functional strength needed to overcome his lack of height.
Additionally, Nowell is a strong defender, a reputation that’s helped him rise to his current ranking as the No. 38 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Nowell fared well last weekend during the third Nike EYBL session of the spring in North Texas, and the Herald-Leader was in attendance to capture highlights of his on-court exploits at the Southwest Athletic Center in Carrollton, Texas.
