Highlights: Class of 2025 Kentucky recruit Darius Acuff Jr. plays on Nike EYBL circuit
The ability to fill up the basket from three-point range is of crucial important in modern-day basketball.
And although it’s still years away from potentially coming to fruition, the Kentucky men’s basketball program is already making inroads with an elite three-point shooting recruit.
Darius Acuff Jr., a class of 2025 point guard from Michigan, has exploded onto the recruiting scene in recent months as one of the top scorers in his class, in particular from distance.
The 6-1 Acuff is currently unranked by 247Sports and the 247Sports Composite, but it won’t remain that way for long.
The likes of Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky and Michigan State are among the schools that have already extended a scholarship offer to Acuff, who is among the top scorers through three sessions on the Nike EYBL circuit this spring.
He added to this string of high-scoring performances last weekend during the third Nike EYBL session in North Texas, when he exploded for 30 points on 8-for-16 three-point shooting in his final game of the weekend with his team, The Family.
The Herald-Leader was in attendance to capture highlights of his dominant distance-shooting performance at the Southwest Athletic Center in Carrollton, Texas.
