Highlights: Priority class of 2024 UK basketball recruit Karter Knox stars at Peach Jam
The end-of-season Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, South Carolina, always features the top prep basketball players in the country competing against one another.
It’s what’s made the event an annual destination for both college basketball recruiters and media members looking toward the future.
And if it wasn’t already clear, class of 2024 small forward Karter Knox is potentially the future of college basketball.
A 6-foot-5, 205-pound small forward, Knox is a five-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 6 overall player in his class by the 247Sports Composite.
In May, Knox released a list of his final eight post-high school basketball pathways: Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, South Florida and the NBA’s G League Ignite program.
As of now, UK is still viewed as the favorite to land Knox, whose older brother Kevin was a one-and-done player at Kentucky and a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
And the potential for a second Knox to play for the Wildcats should get UK fans very excited.
The Herald-Leader watched Knox play Monday afternoon for the Florida Rebels in an opening-day Peach Jam game against PSA Cardinals, a team featuring another top class of 2024 UK recruit in combo guard Boogie Fland.
Despite sitting for most of the first half with foul trouble, Knox took over in the second half and became the star of the game, scoring 19 points to lead all scorers as his team erased a double-digit deficit to win.
