Three of UK’s basketball commitments for the recruiting class of 2016 were among the 20 players named to the 2015-16 All-USA preseason boys’ basketball team Wednesday by USA Today.

Malik Monk, who committed to the Cats on Wednesday morning, joins De’Aaron Fox and Edrice “Bam” Adebayo on the honorary squad, which consists of many of the best high school basketball players in the country.

Adebayo, Fox and Monk are all considered top-10 national prospects in the class of 2016 by at least two of the major recruiting services.

Other seniors on the team are Rawle Alkins (uncommitted), Lonzo Ball (UCLA), Miles Bridges (Michigan State), Terrance Ferguson (Alabama), Markelle Fultz (Washington), Alterique Gilbert (UConn), Frank Jackson (Duke), Josh Jackson (uncommitted), V.J. King (Louisville), T.J. Leaf (UCLA) and Jayson Tatum (Duke).

Selections from the class of 2017 include DeAndre Ayton, Wendell Carter, Trevon Duval, Michael Porter and Gary Trent Jr., all of whom are UK recruiting targets.

UK target Marvin Bagley is the only class of 2018 player to earn the honor, though he recently decided to leave his new Arizona prep school amid possible NCAA issues with the institution.
