Two University of Kentucky football commitments for the class of 2017 and the Cats’ biggest remaining recruiting target in that group made the updated ESPN 300 rankings, which were released Wednesday.
Lafayette offensive lineman Jedrick Wills -- UK’s top target for 2017 -- was the only Kentuckian on the list. Wills is ranked as the No. 85 overall player and No. 11 offensive tackle in the junior class. He has scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and several other major programs, but UK is seen as one of the favorites in his recruitment.
Two of Wills’ teammates -- senior offensive lineman Landon Young and junior quarterback Walker Wood -- are already committed to the Wildcats.
UK commitments Michael Warren and Russ Yeast also made the updated ESPN 300 rankings.
Warren -- a running back from Ohio -- is considered the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 20 player at his position in the class of 2017.
Yeast -- the son of former UK star Craig Yeast -- is ranked as the No. 262 overall recruit and No. 28 athlete in the class. He’s projected as either a wide receiver or defensive back at the college level.
UK also has commitments from Wood, quarterback Mac Jones, defensive end James Hudson and tight end Charles Reeves for the class of 2017.
