More Kentucky basketball recruiting links: Major in-state star commits to Ohio State
One of the top basketball players in Kentucky has chosen his college destination.
Four-star guard George Washington III committed to Ohio State on Wednesday morning, shortly after taking an official visit to Columbus. The Louisville Christian standout had scholarship offers from Louisville, Indiana and Tennessee, among many other major colleges. Washington moved to Louisville from Texas before last high school season, and the 6-foot-1 guard averaged 23.9 points while making 77 three-pointers over 26 games.
Washington is the No. 50 overall player in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s ranked as high as No. 24 nationally in that class by ESPN.
