Louisville assistant coach Kahil Fennell was in town on Tuesday night to see Lexington Catholic junior big man Reece Potter play at Frederick Douglass High School.

Potter — a versatile 7-footer in the 2023 class — tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds, and LexCath defeated Douglass, 59-43. Potter came into the contest averaging 22.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game for the Knights, who are now 4-0 on the season. Xavier Coach Travis Steele was also in attendance Tuesday night.

The local star’s recruiting profile has picked up after a nice showing on the summer circuit with the Griffin Elite program. Potter has received scholarship offers from Saint Louis, Xavier and Western Kentucky in recent weeks, with Illinois among the other schools showing interest. U of L also visited Potter at a Lexington Catholic practice late last month. (Read more about Potter and his recruitment).
