More Kentucky basketball recruiting links: Possible UK target cuts his college list
Five-star point guard Kylan Boswell, who has been linked to Kentucky in recent weeks, narrowed his list of college options to eight schools Tuesday, and UK was not among them.
Boswell -- a 6-foot-2 junior playmaker from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. -- is considering Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Oregon, Southern Cal, Texas Tech and UNLV. All of those schools have extended scholarship offers.
Kentucky has not offered Boswell, though the Wildcats were showing some interest in him this season. Boswell is in his first year with Arizona Compass Prep, which featured TyTy Washington last season. One of Boswell’s teammates at Compass Prep is five-star wing Mookie Cook, who was one of the first players in the 2023 class to land a UK scholarship offer.
It’s unclear if Boswell would reassess his list if a school like Kentucky increased its interest, but the Cats do already have a commitment from five-star guard Reed Sheppard and are viewed as the favorites for No. 1-ranked guard DJ Wagner, if he chooses to play college basketball over the professional route.
