Kentucky coach scouts pair of star prospects. And the top UK basketball recruiting links.
Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua was in New York on Sunday to check out a couple of the top basketball recruits in the 2024 class.
Antigua attended the AA quarterfinals of the New York Catholic league, a quadruple-header of high school games at Hofstra University that featured Ian Jackson and Boogie Fland, two of the highest-ranked sophomores in the country.
Jackson — a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Cardinal Hayes in Bronx, N.Y. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 2 overall player in the 2024 class. He has already been closely linked to Kentucky, and it would be no surprise if he lands a Wildcats scholarship offer in the coming months. (UK has not yet offered any 2024 recruits).
Fland — a 6-3 point guard from Archbishop Stepniac in White Plains — has also been mentioned as a possible UK target. He’s the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
