More DJ Wagner-Louisville predictions. And the top Kentucky basketball recruiting links.
The predictions in favor of the Louisville Cardinals keep on coming for star basketball recruit DJ Wagner.
Less than a week after 247Sports analyst Travis Branham put in the first pro-U of L pick on Wagner’s Crystal Ball page, four more predictions going the Cards’ way have been logged. Those picks are from three recruiting analysts and reporters who cover Louisville (one from 247Sports, two from Rivals.com, entered on Wagner’s FutureCast page), with another Crystal Ball pick coming from a Duke analyst.
If Wagner does pick Louisville, it would obviously be a major blow to Kentucky’s John Calipari, who coached the star player’s father, Dajuan, at Memphis two decades ago. New Cardinals head coach Kenny Payne was teammates with Wagner’s grandfather, Milt, at Louisville, and there has been considerable buzz in recruiting circles that Payne might hire Milt and/or U of L legend Pervis Ellison (Wagner’s AAU coach) for positions on the Cardinals’ staff.
So far, Branham is the only analyst who covers recruiting on a national level to put in a Louisville pick for Wagner, but the momentum certainly appears to be going the Cards’ way.
