Calipari gives out more Kentucky offers, plus the top UK basketball recruiting links
Following the first July basketball recruiting period, Kentucky Wildcats Coach John Calipari continues to look toward the future with two new scholarship offers for top prospects in the 2024 class.
On Wednesday night, point guards Boogie Fland and Tahaad Pettiford became the latest recipients of UK offers. Fland helped lead the USA Basketball U17 team to a FIBA gold medal in Spain, an event that Calipari traveled to see in person. Fland, who is the No. 13 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings, was second on Team USA with 3.6 assists per game and had a total of just three turnovers in 89 minutes of play at the event.
Pettiford is No. 42 in the 2024 composite rankings but should be due for a major bump after a productive spring and summer that has clearly caught Kentucky’s attention. The Jersey City, N.J. playmaker has picked up previous scholarship offers from Auburn, Maryland, UConn, UCLA and several other major programs.
Fland and Pettiford are the sixth and seventh rising juniors to pick up UK scholarship offers this summer, joining in-state combo guard Travis Perry, shooting guards Isaiah Elohim, Ian Jackson and Tre Johnson, as well as wing Karter Knox.
