Sophomore guard Camron Justice is leaving Vanderbilt at the end of the fall semester and has received permission to contact other NCAA Division I programs about a transfer. Vanderbilt announced Justice’s departure Tuesday.

Justice, who starred in high school at Knott County Central and was voted Mr. Basketball in 2015, said in a school release that he will “reopen my recruitment and decide the next chapter in my life.”

Justice thanked the staffs of Vanderbilt Coach Bryce Drew and former coach Kevin Stallings. He added that “it’s sad to say I will no longer play for Vanderbilt, but I’ve made some great memories and friendships that go farther than the game of basketball.”

Justice, a 6-3 guard, played in seven games and averaged 1.7 points and 9.3 minutes this season. He averaged 3.3 points per game last season.

Vanderbilt (5-5) hosts Chattanooga on Saturday.
