Eastern Kentucky junior forward Jackson Davis will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum, the school announced.

Davis, who starred in high school at Lafayette, tore the labrum in his left shoulder at practice on Jan. 17.

The 6-foot-8 forward was coming off his best stretch of basketball as part of the Colonels. He scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win at UT Martin on Jan. 11 and had a career-high 18 points and five rebounds in a win at Southeast Missouri two days later.

Davis ranked fourth on the team in scoring (8.2 points per game) and third in rebounding (4.7).

“We are devastated that Jackson’s year is over,” Coach Dan McHale said. “But, we are confident that he will be back and better than ever next year, and ready to help his team.”
