2 injured in collision involving team van from Campbellsville University Harrodsburg

A Campbellsville University student and coach were injured in a crash involving a men’s basketball team van on Saturday afternoon.

The collision involving a van from Campbellsville University Harrodsburg happened after a game against Ohio Christian University, the school said in a statement on Saturday night.

The university said the coach and student’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

“Ohio Christian University has graciously stepped in to host our team on their campus while additional transportation is en route to bring our team back safely,” the statement said.

“President Hopkins and the leadership at Campbellsville University are deeply thankful for the support from all involved and kindly ask you to please join us in lifting prayers for our coaches, our student-athletes, and everyone impacted by this incident.”

The team played Ohio Christian in a game that started at 3 p.m. Saturday in Circleville, Ohio, which is about half an hour south of Columbus.

The school’s website says the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg’s men’s basketball team, along with other athletic teams, is in Division II of the National Christian College Athletic Association and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
