“You can’t play defense on Eastern Kentucky any better than what we did tonight. I’m so proud of our guys because they were all locked in,” said Eagles Coach Sean Woods. “Our defense was relentless all night and on offense we created extra possessions. I also thought ... we dominated the backboards.”
Morehead held a 34-27 edge in rebounding to continue its dominance at Johnson Arena. The Eagles entered the game outrebounding opponents by 9.1 at home and 1.2 on the road.
The loss puts Eastern Kentucky in danger of missing the OVC Tournament. The top eight of the conference’s 12 teams participate, and the Colonels are tied for No. 8 after Thursday’s defeat.
