Former WKU guard Harrison-Docks announces he’ll transfer to DePaul
Former Western Kentucky guard Chris Harrison-Docks announced via his Instagram account Saturday that he will play his final season at DePaul next year.
“I’ve learned that life’s opportunities are always available if you’re optimistic, believe in yourself and are open to change,” Harrison-Docks wrote in the post. “I know my absence will provide new opportunities for others at WKU, and I’ve had faith another door would open for me as well.
“Thankfully, that door has presented itself and I’m happy to announce I’ll be pursuing a Master’s degree while playing basketball at DePaul University. I am grateful to the DePaul administration and coaches for opening their doors to me. I intend to make the most of it.”
Harrison-Docks, a redshirt junior who is the son of former University of Kentucky player Chris Harrison, was dismissed from WKU last month in a decision coach Ray Harper said was “what was best for this family.”
Harrison-Docks is set to graduate from WKU this spring.
He was averaging 10 points and shooting 38 percent from 3-point range for WKU this season in an average of 23.9 minutes per contest before his dismissal. He started just one of 18 games he appeared in this year.
DePaul, which plays in the Big East Conference, is 8-18 this season.
