Cumberlands sophomore Kaitlyn Riley won the NAIA’s individual title after shooting a 4-under par 140 over two rounds at the women’s golf national championships at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga. The former Anderson County standout’s second-round 68 tied for the lowest 18-hole score in the tournament’s history.

Riley finished two shots ahead of Keiser’s Elsa Westin and seven shots ahead of three others.

Defending champion Keiser won the team title with a 23-over par 599. Cumberlands tied for fourth at 39 over.

“It’s a day of mixed emotions as on the team side we came up short of our goal (as a team),” Cumberlands Coach Chris Kraftick said in a news release. “Obviously, on the flip side is Kaitlyn winning the individual national championship and tying the 18-hole tournament record. I’m so proud of her and how she has matured over the last two years. She’s an amazing talent.”
